Getting Out Of Stealth Mode

Xerocon 2018 in Brisbane was a beast of a show, with over 3,500 people listening to the latest from the team at Xero. It also represented a first for us. We’ve attended Xerocon for the last five years, but this was the first time that we’ve exhibited.

What a great experience! It helped raise our profile and start conversations with the kind of people we want to help. As a team, getting out there gave us a lot of confidence.

We know we’re good at what we do and now is the time for us to get out and meet partners, clients and potential clients. XeroCon represented the beginning of us being far more visible as a business.

QuickBooks Connect | San Jose

Dan and Mat made the long journey to the US last week. They’ve met with partners and clients, but the real reason was to attend QuickBooks Connect in San Jose. It’s QuickBooks’ annual gathering and an opportunity for us to hear their plans and meet some of their key people.

Deeper into the USA | Denver

Following San Jose, Dan and Mat are straight on a plane to Denver, Colorado. Their next week will largely be spent working directly with one of our key industry partners, Accelo. As Accelo’s largest implementation partner, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop our partnership into something truly special while sharing our on-the-ground experience with them on behalf of our client base.

You’ll also find us tomorrow night (Thursday 8th November) at Cheers & Beers with Accelo. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cheers-beers-with-accelo-tickets-51832393083

Dan and Mat will be in Denver until the 15th November, so if you’re US based and want to have a call, or meet in person, please get in touch.

Accountech Live | Melbourne

While Dan and Mat are racking up the frequent flier miles, Rhys, Neil and Luke have a much shorter journey for their next event. Accountech Live takes place next week (13th to 14th November) at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, where we’ve been invited by the organisers to speak.

Rhys will be taking to the stage on the afternoon of Tuesday 13th. He’ll share with accountants and bookkeepers how NOT to add apps to their practice or into their client’s businesses. https://www.accountech.live/agenda/adding-an-app-to-your-practice-or-clients-operations-heres-how-not-to-do-it/

If you’re attending Accountech Live, take the opportunity to hear from Rhys. We know you’ll get a lot from his presentation.

2019 and beyond

It’s unusual to have two such big events in the space of two weeks, but great to be able to divide the team and represent Waypoint at home in Australia and in the USA. It’s very much the way we see our future.

We’re already deep into our 2019 planning cycle and much of that has involved looking to the horizon at upcoming events. We’ll keep you up-to-date with where you’ll find us nearer the time, but here’s a shortlist of where we’ll be.

If you think of any other events where we should be, either as an exhibitor or as delegates, we’d love to hear from you.

We look forward to meeting you in the weeks, months and years ahead.
